BB3 Week 1 recap - "Be as innocent as a dove, and as sly as a snake"

The 12 houseguests enter the house, and their first competition is to take food from the backyard and climb up the tree in pairs. Julie then tells them the last pair in their tree will have a chance to win money for each week they remain in the house together. After stepping down early, Josh takes the opportunity to form an alliance with the first six people to drop out. Jason and Lori are the last pair standing and win the challenge.

The first HoH challenge sees the houseguests drawing cards and systematically eliminating the houseguests with the qualities on the cards. Eventually, only Lisa and Lori are left, and the house votes for Lisa to be the first HoH.

The houseguests compete to unlock the hot tub by jumping into a pool together and swapping swimsuits with a member of the opposite sex. The houseguests are successful, despite Gerry providing an unsightly bulge.

Marcellas has a bad attitude towards most of the houseguests, so Josh talks to Lisa and tries to get him nominated. Lori is concerned she is a target but Josh wants to let her know the plan in advance so that she doesn't freak out. Lisa is happy to go along until she overhears a conversation between Gerry and Josh where he says he doesn't trust her. Lisa nominates Marcellas and Lori for eviction.

Danielle is worried nobody has approached her for an alliance, but she eventually forms a bond with Jason. Gerry also wants to align with Danielle as he is starting to grow tired with Josh. Josh has noticed Gerry has strayed from his alliance and now plans on targeting him.

The houseguests compete for the Power of Veto by firing paintballs at eachother's cut-outs. Most of the houseguests knock themselves out of contention as they don't want to make a decision. Gerry wins the PoV.

Josh is worried that Gerry will save Marcellas with the veto. He talks with both nominees, because he doesn't want either of them to go. Gerry is convinced Marcellas is being targeted because he's gay, but Danielle is not convinced that has anything to do with it.

Danielle is grossed out by Gerry not washing his hands after coming out of the bathroom, and Lori blows up on her for talking about it behind his back. Conversely, Marcellas is endearing himself to the girls after opening up about the time he was engaged to a woman.

At the veto ceremony, Gerry decides to veto Marcellas' nomination, and talks about the discrimination he's faced. Unhappy at having to name a replacement, Lisa nominates Amy. The rest of the house are mad at Gerry and want him out next week.

By a vote of 5-4, Lori is the first one evicted from the house.
