14 houseguests enter the house, each with a secret partner...however no-one realizes they are not the only couple in the game. The houseguests immediately split into two teams for the first competition - standing on a surfboard and shooting coconuts into a tiki. The winners get to compete for HoH, and the losers end up on peanut butter and jelly. Kaysar and Cappy both struggle for the blue team, whereas the orange team dominate, thanks mainly to Michael.
The members of the orange team have to stay on their surfboard the longest to win HoH, and the seven of them plot to stay together. Kaysar starts to get paranoid that he'll be targeted first, as being a Muslim he stands out. Rachel and Howie are soon the last two left, and Howie jumps off to give it to Rachel.
Rachel discusses nominations with her new 7 person alliance. Cappy is worried two guys are going up, and tries to form a male alliance with James, Kaysar and Michael since they have a numbers disadvantage. James tries to get the target off the guys and onto Jennifer, as he thinks she's being too flirtatious. In the end, Rachel goes with the two she was originally leaning towards - Kaysar and Ashlea.
Beau would like Kaysar to stay, and gives him some advice to be less introverted. Cappy also has Kaysar's back and is securing his safety using his boys alliance and his side alliance with Ivette.
Using the spy screen in the HoH room, Rachel finds a clue to a secret room. After finding her way into the secret room without anyone seeing, she finds a golden key that unlocks the hot tub. At this point, Rachel decides to let everyone else in on it, but Maggie still doesn't trust her.
The PoV competition sees three pairs attached to ropes trying to untangle themselves from a climbing frame. Ashlea and Howie fall out of contention when Ashlea gets tired. Rachel and Maggie beat Cappy and Kaysar, and Rachel is the one to claim the PoV.
After Jennifer locks Rachel out of her HoH room, Rachel considers using the veto on Ashlea to get her put up. Ivette convinces Rachel that she's not a threat and that Ashlea has to go, so in the end, Rachel leaves the nominations the same.
Janelle campaigns for Kaysar to go. Kaysar feels safe as long as the guys alliance stick together, so warns Michael when Cappy thinks he's getting too close to Jennifer. When Michael comes back to Cappy with this, Cappy feels Kaysar has broken his trust.
Gradually, some of the houseguests start to wisen up to the fact they're not the only couple in the house. Kaysar and Michael think Beau and Ivette are together. Maggie and Cappy think that Howie is with Rachel, Janelle is with Ashlea, and that James and Sarah are a couple. April and Jennifer remain undiscovered.
By a vote of 9-2, Ashlea is evicted from the house.
